Libraries who are considering capital improvement projects and may want to apply for public funds (such as Keystone Grants or other programs) may be interested in attending an information session to learn more about prevailing wage as a preparation step.
The session shared forward from our friends at the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority, as advertised below, is being hosted specifically for applicants of the Broadband Infrastructure Program, but information shared may be relevant to the overall understanding of prevailing wage.
The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority and Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry will host a joint webinar on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm to provide information about and answer questions on the Prevailing Wage for applicants interested in submitting proposals for the ARPA Capital Projects Fund (CPF) Broadband Infrastructure Program.
The Department of Labor and Industry, through the Bureau of Labor Law Compliance, determines prevailing wage rates for the construction industry and enforces the rates and classifications under the heavy highway and building construction projects of $25,000 or more when public funds are involved. The Department also determines the prevailing minimum wage rates and employee benefits for specific localities and classifications. The presentation will be an overview of the Prevailing Wage Law, regulations, processes, and will feature Q&A.
