Good morning, library community.
We have an exciting opportunity to share geared towards community college libraries, but open to all library professionals across the commonwealth. The upcoming Community College LINK online conference, is a LSTA supported statewide community of practice designed to provide opportunities to build meaningful relationships and deepen the collective understanding of both the challenges and opportunities facing community college libraries in Pennsylvania.
This event will be held virtually Friday, May 9, 2025. The Welcome and Keynote will feature our own Susan Banks, Deputy Secretary and State Librarian. Other sessions include:
- Encouraging the Use of Open Educational Resources, presented by Alexander Kirby, Instruction & Online Service Librarian at the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College
- Bringing the World to a Rural Community College Through Library Programming, presented by Julia Tulba, Reference and Instruction Librarian at the Butler County Community College
- Dangers Beyond Banned Books; Teaching College-level Research Strategies Through Manufactured Instability of Public Knowledge, presented by Kevin Strunk, Professor and Reference Librarian at Montgomery County Community College
