The State Library is hosting a Lunch and Learn on Burns Day to commemorate Scottish writer Robert Burns. The event will take place in the Green Room of the Forum Building and will feature special guests from the Scottish Society of Central Pennsylvania! The event will include a Rare Collection Open House immediately following the talk.

Pennsylvania has a bevy of interesting Scottish immigrants who played an important role in shaping our State as well as our Country.  Please join us in learning how Pennsylvania and Scotland are intertwined! You will hear a recitation of poetry and have authorities on hand to answer questions about Scotland.

Primary presenter Mark Hagenbuch will be assisted by Janet Bex, who is very knowledgeable about Robert Burns and his poetry and music.  Mr. Hagenbuch will recite some poetry and has, at times, been known to break into song.  Several members will be dressed in Scottish attire and a display of kilts will be shown.
