Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries is proud to announce the upcoming 2019 Friends Institute
The Institute will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Genetti Hotel and Suites in Williamsport, PA. This is the sixth Friends Institute and is an opportunity to network with other Friends and gather information useful to all Friends Groups. Register!
The day-long workshop will kick off with an exciting and informative presentation by our keynote speaker Tricia Richards-Service, a well-known PR/Marketing Communications Consultant. She has served on the board of the Friends of the Abington Community Library and on the PCBL board.
Her keynote presentation, entitled “Power in Numbers; a Discussion on Partnerships and Collaborations” will help you expand your reach and engage new people by partnering with community businesses, groups and organizations. Tricia will also present a hands-on breakout session entitled “Writing a Win-Win Proposal”.
The other five breakout sessions will cover topics on board policies and procedures, unique fundraising projects, when to collect sales tax, how to handle small games of chance, selling books online, and the responsibilities of the Library board and the Friends board. Access the Agenda!
Since there are three concurrent sessions at one time, you should consider sending more than one person to the Institute to cover all the topics.
The day will include ample opportunity to network with other Friends, both old and new.
PCBL will also be presenting their annual Awards to the Friend of the Year and the Friends Groups of the Year. PCBL will be holding its Annual Meeting at the Institute. All Friends are welcome to attend.
There will be a Swap Table where Friends Groups can provide copies of their newsletters, brochures, posters, etc for the taking. A great way to learn what other Friends Groups have done.
You may access the Agenda here.
