From the Governor’s Advisory Council on Library Development | Compendium

This message is being posted on behalf of Mary Garm, Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Library Development and the Library Relations Committee co-chaired by Marsha Everton and Beth Mellor:

In early 2024, the Governor’s Advisory Council on Library Development (GAC) with your support, collected stories and photos from the library field.  The stories and photos were used to design a printed booklet that highlights the impact of libraries in areas of early childhood and youth programs, lifelong learning, civic engagement, digital literacy, and workforce development across Pennsylvania communities.

A digital copy of the brochure is available online on the Office of Commonwealth Libraries website GAC page.  Here is a direct link to the report:  PA Gov Advisory Council on Lib Dev_ ADA V1

Please share the report widely to promote a statewide story of library work and impact.

Limited printed copies will be available at the Office of Commonwealth Libraries booth in the exhibit hall at the Pennsylvania Library Association Conference.

Libraries work and the GAC thanks you for the impact your work has on the lives of Pennsylvanians in your local communities.

In addition, the Governor’s Advisory Council on Library Development will hold a business meeting on Sunday, October 6, 2024 starting at 10a.m. at the Hilton Harrisburg as the Pennsylvania Library Association Conference begins.  This meeting is open to the public.  As technology allows, we will offer a virtual option for those who can’t attend in person.
