The Pennsylvania State Library has been working with Michael Margolis and the wonderful folks from Get Storied to develop a very special PA Storytelling Toolkit. Margolis will train you, your trustees and your staff to use the newly released The Library Story: Strategic Storytelling Toolkit for Public Libraries, which is based on months of research, surveys and interviews with 200 Pennsylvania librarians and directors.

Please join us for a series of strategic storytelling workshops in September 2015. At these one-day workshops, you’ll gain access to activities, templates and tips to help you communicate effectively with your community and your colleagues. As a librarian, board or staff member you have a powerful story to tell. Whether you’re offering new programs and services, reimagining your library’s physical space or shifting the way you reach patrons-you need to frame your library story in a way that brings it to life. You will bolster the storytelling skills you already have and, more importantly, build your confidence and enthusiasm for sharing the stories of your library and its impact.

Ephrata: September 22  Register here
These workshops are for front line staff and those who manage them!
Penny Talbert, Executive Director of the Ephrata Public Library, will present the workshops.
Attendees will leave the workshop with a virtual toolkit of resources to improve their technology skills. The toolkit will also help them assist their peers in getting up to speed! Technical competencies, and why we need them will be examined. We’ll also look at transliteracy and how this concept fits into serving the public!

What Should You Bring?
For the best experience, please bring a laptop that has Office software installed and that can access wifi.  If you do not have a laptop, please ask your library director or the district library to borrow one.  If you cannot borrow one, please contact Diana Megdad at 717-787-3124 or dmegdad@pa.gov
