Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries is proud to announce the upcoming 2016 Friends Institute.
The Institute will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Holiday Inn in Grantville, PA. This is the third Friends Institute and is an opportunity to network with other Friends and gather information usable by all Friends Groups.
The day-long workshop will kick off with an exciting and informative presentation by our keynote speaker Sara Jane Lowry, a non-profit consultant who has worked with libraries, Friends Groups, and other non-profit organizations throughout the region for the past twenty years.
Her keynote presentation, entitled Being a Friend for your Library; Stepping Out and Stepping Up, will be both inspirational and informative. Sara Jane will also do a breakout session entitled Friendraising; Building the Relationships that Bring You Volunteers, Partners, and Money.
The other six breakout sessions will cover topics such as when to collect sales tax, how to handle small games of chance, how to hold effective meetings, budgeting and finance, fundraising ideas, and other topics.
Mark your calendars now for this important event.
