The PICPA (Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants ) has many different free resources libraries and the public can use to help improve their financial literacy. A Novel Approach to Financial Literacy calendars are one of the services many libraries are familiar with. These financial literacy calendars are free for libraries to distribute to staff, friends, family and patrons. A different work of literature and a corresponding financial topic is highlighted each month.
The 2016 calendars are available for ordering. Quantities are limited, so don’t wait! Go here to order.
The PICPA also offers free brochures on tax tips, retirement planning, and investment fraud. Money and Life is a monthly E-Newsletter that focuses on different financial tips for your everyday life. Past editions of the E-Newsletter are available on the PICPA website.
Did you know that you can request a speaker for a program? This free service provides a trained CPA speaker who will present at your library on topics including budgeting, learning to save, insurance, debt, and more. Location is not an issue as there are CPAs located all over the state of Pennsylvania.
This past spring the PICPA offered free Tax Chat to answer questions people had on preparing their taxes. Ask a CPA offers free help for individuals and businesses to submit their question for a CPA to answer with the option of searching questions that others have asked in the past.
