All libraries use displays as a way to draw attention toward a specific subject for their patrons.  It is a simple way to alert users of different materials and services available at your location. It is part of what our patrons expect when they come into the library.

But are we efficient in providing these displays in the most effective way possible? How would you feel about getting help in creating these displays?  How about an easy way to provide a consistent message to your library patrons during events and programs?

PA Forward is coming to the rescue!!

PA Forward graphics are being used increasingly when communicating the role of libraries in building literary skills throughout the state. As part of a branding opportunity, the Pennsylvania Library Association is distributing a captivating pull-up banner to District Library Centers (DLC) and non-DLC county systems. These banners are portable and extremely easy to assemble which makes them a convenient way to create displays.  They are also extremely valuable for displaying during all library events and programs.  The banners will be distributed and available to all libraries to borrow through their DLC by late spring.  If you are interested in purchasing a banner for your library, please contact Kathy Silks (kathy@palibraries.org) directly for further details.

Another source available to those libraries wanting to enliven their displays is a free webinar on Tuesday, March 17th at 3PM, called Beyond Book Displays. This program will focus on strategies and practices to help engage the self-directed patrons at your library. Even if you are unavailable during the webinar time, you can still register to receive the event archives of the program.  This St. Patty’s Day take the first steps to make other librarians “Green with Envy” on the new skills and resources you have to move PA Forward.
