As a Collection Management Librarian, you will coordinate efforts to enhance the library’s collection and ensure efficient resource allocation. This will include gathering data on growth, usage, subscription fees, and other expenses related to resources. This information will be used to make decisions regarding the library’s budget and collection strategies. You will also be in charge of coordinating the acquisition of both print and electronic resources, working closely with the bureau director to manage the acquisitions budget and provide financial reports.

Your role will also encompass overseeing all aspects of resource acquisitions, including ordering, receiving, and invoicing materials in different formats and order types. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in strategic collections planning, developing collection development policies, and managing collection projects. Collaboration with other library units will be essential to ensure effective communication and workflows related to collection development and management.
