Registration is Open for the Southwest Libraries Confluence | Compendium

Registration is open for the Southwest Libraries Confluence, a one-day workshop for library staff from Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.

Join us at Citizens Library in Washington, PA on Friday, August 18 from 9:00am-4:00pm for an inspiring day full of hands-on learning, posters, networking and more. If you are interested in building community partnerships, learning about emerging library trends, serving special populations in your community, or wondering what to do with all the data you collect, the Confluence has you covered!  Your colleagues from Southwestern Pennsylvania will be sharing some of the innovative and exciting things they are doing at their libraries.  It is also a great opportunity to meet library staff from the region, share resources and experiences, and build relationships.

We’ve been awarded an LSTA grant from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries to organize this “Confluence” in order to help staff from libraries of all sizes feel more connected with each other and informed about current practice in excellent library services. We expect to evolve new partnerships, develop deeper understanding and creative solutions and forge new friendships across library and county borders. Ultimately, we imagine a more equitable and consistent experience for the patrons of every public library in Southwest Pennsylvania
