FREE Information and Research Skills Course for K-12 Educators and Librarians | Compendium

Learn or review research and information literacy skills at your own pace in this FREE course, which was started by Brooklyn Public Library and is funded in part by IMLS.

BPL’s Teacher Lab is for educators, including school librarians.
From the site: “The course includes an orientation to the resources of the modern public library, visiting a special collection in an archive, and a review of information literacy skills essential for navigating open internet tools like Google and Wikipedia. You’ll learn how to apply core research skills across all disciplines, handle primary sources, and how to evaluate and cite resources ranging from scholarly articles to tweets.”

The Brooklyn Public Library has graciously offered the course free to PA educators and librarians.  You may receive a certificate but no ACT 48 or CE credits  will be offered since New York’s education requirements are different than Pennsylvania’s.
